Museum Tour and Hands-On Art Activity
$250 per
group of 10-20 students
Loves
Jazz & Arts Center, 2510 N. 24th St. in northeast Omaha, offers
after-school groups a guided tour of the unique, colorful gallery.
The
tour will be followed by some kind of a related arts experience developed
especially for After School Treats participants. It might be an exercise in
painting, jewelry-making, textile arts, music, dancing, creative writing, or
interactive storytelling. That way, every student will have a "take-home."
The
grant includes transportation to and from the center, a small donation to the
museum, plus a healthy snack and, of course, free admission for each student to
the museum.
So
far in 2009, one $250 grant has been provided.
